Surfing websites are a lifeline for most of us. Whether you’re looking for the latest surf reports, grabbing some essential surf gear, or binging epic surf videos, these websites have got you covered.
I’m the first to admit I may have watched a few too many surf comps at one of my previous jobs, but it’s perfect for long, flat spells with no waves.
So let’s paddle straight out with number one on our list, the big dogs of competitive surfing and controversy.
1. World Surf League (WSL)
The World Surf League is the home of professional surfing, offering live events, rankings, and all things pro surf.
- Live streaming of surf competitions
- Latest rankings and stats
- Exclusive interviews with pro surfers
- Highlight videos from past events
WSL is your one-stop shop for all things professional surfing, from the WCT to the big wave awards. If you’re keen on following the world’s best surfers and want to keep tabs on the latest competitions, this is the place to be.
They’ve been under fire recently with changing CEOs, format changes, questionable judging, and mild revolts from the surfers on tour. It’s probably not easy running global surfing, but with these guys cutting J-Bay (easily one of the best events on tour) this year, it’s more fuel for the fire.
2. Surfline
Surfline provides the most comprehensive surf reports, forecasts, and coastal weather reports for surfers worldwide.
- Surf forecasts
- Live surf cams worldwide
- News and articles on swells, surf science and forecasting
Surfline is the go-to for reliable surf conditions and live cams. Now, that’s not to say they don’t get it wrong. I’ve turned up to the beach with a pumping forecast to be met with knee-high waves, but it’s pretty good for the most part.
The painful part is lots of their webcams are locked up behind their Premium membership, so be ready to part with that well-earned cash.
3. XCEL Wetsuits
XCEL Wetsuits online store offers top-of-the-line wetsuits and surf gear that are hard to beat.
- High-quality suits
- Surf accessories
- Gear guides
XCEL is my favourite when it comes to staying toasty in the depths of winter. They’re a great fit if you’re on the skinnier, bean-pole side like me, and the seams and pads last for a good few seasons. Don’t miss our guide on some of today’s top wetsuit brands for more of our favourite rubber.
4. Stab Mag
Stab Mag is a stylish surf magazine with a bit of a cool kid vibe that covers culture, fashion, and, of course, surfing.
- Surf culture and fashion
- Exclusive interviews
- General news in the surfing world
- High-quality photography
Stab Mag is where surf culture meets high fashion. If you’re into the lifestyle aspect of surfing, this is your go-to source for all things chic and surf-related, with a slightly dry, sarcastic approach that many enjoy.
They also host one of my favourite pieces of surf media to date, Stab in The Dark. This pits a pro surfer against 15 mystery surfboards in an elimination-style contest with only one board left for the unveiling at the end.
5. Honest Surf

7. Surf-Forecast.com
Surf-Forecast.com offers surf forecasts and reports for over 7,000 of the world’s best surf spots and a no-cost alternative to Surfline’s reports.
- Detailed surf forecasts
- Global surf spots
- Windsurfing and kitesurfing info
This site is a forecasting powerhouse. It may not have an extensive list of webcams, but If you’re planning a surf trip, this is your go-to for spot-on forecasts, locally and globally.
This is where I go when Surfline’s limited five-day forecast isn’t good enough, and I need some long-range data

12. Real Surf Forum
Real Surf Forum is a community-driven platform where surfers can discuss everything from wave conditions to gear recommendations.

Real Surf Forum is like the local surf shop of the internet. It’s a place to get advice, share experiences, and even vent about that guy who dropped in on your last session. It’s all about community, which every surfer can appreciate.
13. Volcom
Volcom is a lifestyle brand that blends surfing, skateboarding, and snowboarding culture with a rebellious counter-culture approach.
- Surf and skate apparel
- Exclusive collaborations
- Environmental initiatives
Volcom is more than just a surf brand; it’s a lifestyle. Their apparel is as versatile as it is stylish, and their commitment to sustainability is something every surfer can get behind.
They’ve got a whole range of surf-skate-inspired clothing, and they’re making waves in the wetsuit game with some great new neoprene in their online store.
